Markley Station
As part of an urban revitalization project in Greenville, South Carolina’s historic West End, Bannan Blasko was commissioned to design and hand-paint a piece of signage complimenting Markley Station’s past life as a railroad hub. Two decorative serif fonts, reminiscent of the Railway Age, were selected as the primary text. Smaller secondary information was then rendered in a clean, industrial sans serif for readability and contrast. The signage is strategically placed to face the ongoing expansion of Greenville’s scenic Swamp Rabbit Trail.
